A Brief History

  Near Sierra Vineyards near Lockeford, California is  owned by  John H. Bischoff and Cindy L. Davis. John received a  BS and MS degree in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota.  He went on to obtain his Ph.D. at Iowa State University.  He first came to the Lockeford area and California in the summer of 1999 to begin his new avocation for the new millennium as viniculturist.  

Cindy received her BA  from Chico State University and MSW from  Sacramento State University in Social Work and Psychotherapy.

At Near Sierra Vineyards we are committed to the intensive production of the distinguished Bordeaux red wine grape, Petit Verdot.
